STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION

Product Manager, Business, Developers

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Many college students encounter student partner programs, yet perceive them as ineffective or lack the motivation to apply or actively participate. How might we devise strategies that not only encourage participation but also instill a sense of purpose and drive, empowering students to contribute meaningfully to their development and future success.

BREAKDOWN OF THE PROBLEM

1

Students unclear of the benefits

Lack of clear communication is leading to drop offs and student not participating

2

Inconsistency in communication

Delight that student see on Landing page, was missing in marketing, Emailers etc.

3

Lack of good visual

communication

First viewport doesn’t clearly cover what student can expect from the program

PROCESS

As this program was up and running since few years, I collated all the insights and data of previous version.

Few critical data points to consider:

  • Landing page drop off rates.

  • Students participating in referral program which was mostly derived through business reaching out to students directly

  • No. of students enrolled vs actively participating

SECONDARY RESEARCH

For this task, I conducted competitor analysis and secondary research to get an understanding of how others are communicating the information and what kind of motivation lever are considered good practices. Additionally, referred to other programs and campaigns rolled by Internshala.

Few trendy student ambassador programs that I referred for competitor analysis:

  • Microsoft learn student ambassador (MLSA)

  • Google developer student clubs (Google DSC)

  • Skillenza campus hustler

  • Geeksforgeeks campus mantri

CONCLUDING ON RESEARCH

In most of the program, there were few common practices which made them stand out and this also helped me setup my design goal which was : Clarity and Delight

Clear communication of expectations

In most programs, user would easily understand what to expect from first few folds of information

Designs relevant for college students

Touching upon how students can stand out among their classmates and build a brand

Good rewards and authentic credentials

Students gets a sense of credibility by checking the testimonials and certifications provided

VISUALS

✅ DESIGN GOAL : COMMUNICATION WITH DELIGHT

Clear communication of program and potential benefits / rewards

Challenge

Awareness of program and its benefits was one of the crucial challenges

Design Solve

Solved it by setting the “FACE OF COLLEGE” vibe along with visually representing the benefits within banner image through illustrations

Ensured color palette represents Internshala, for better recall

REFERRAL PROGRAM

BRANDING AND MARKETING

Maintaining visual consistency throughout the communication is a critical aspect to build recall value. We worked on Emailers, Banner images at main page and referral contest cards to ensure the design language remains consistent everywhere. Below are few elements:

IMPACT

Intuitive banner designs reduced the bounce rate of the website by 22%, Video to showcase the program information in detail and mention the outcomes at the very first glance proved to be a great add-on to the page.

Over 6lac+ students applied through this page for ISP and 1lac+ students got hired for the program.

As this program motivates students to enhance their communication and management skills by conducting seminars, webinars, over 3000+ talks were conducted by students across the country.
